62 gmc spindle swap?

Ok guys, im lowering the back of my half ton 5 inches. I have spindles for the front off a 76 chevy to switch to disk breaks. My question is do i need to go ahead and buy lowering spindles or is there a year that the disk break spindles will fit and just lower the torsion bar. The spindles off the 76 dont fit the ball joints on the arms(62 ball joints to big)So i would need to buy all new ball joints. It would be about the same price to just buy the lowering spindles (and less work) made for disk breaks. But would like to save some cash if i could get junk yard spindles that fit. So any year with disk that fit my ball joints?
