2001 Suburban: Rattle on Acceleration

Ok guys, i have a 2001 Suburban LT 4x4, 5.3l, front and rear air.

What i BELIEVE to be my problem is the belt tensioner/AC Compressor, but want to get yalls opinion.

When driving, WITH OR WITHOUT the AC on, once the vehicle gets warmed up or i have been driving a good while, i start to get a rattle when I accelerate. The harder i accelerate the more it rattles.

I have heard many differant options, including catalytic converter etc, however the noise appears to be coming from under the hood and i believe it sounds like the belt tensioner slapping against something. I did some researching and i found that was a "sort of" common issue with the AC Compressors as they start to go bad and try to lock up and it pulls the belt tensioner, and some other info about the AC compressor and the fluid etc that could cause the problems.

The issue is, on those reports everyone mentioned they had their AC on at the time, well mine is happening with or without the AC on. So, based off the book i just wrote you and hopefully you read, any opinions????
