Are you sure your solenoid is not getting heat soak? My '71 'burban had center dump cast iron exhaust manifolds, had an issue with the solenoid twice. Wrapped it up and spun up great until I sold it. Always meant to remote mount it, but it did fine attached.

I knew I had seen that barn with the diamond window before! I work up at Red Soils Ct., so they probably saw me up there.
