The gray (or silver) KYB is the gas-a-just variety. A much better shock than what comes with the ECE kit. I believe everyone gets the excel-g (black) shocks. If you look on the KYB site, this is an entry level shock no different than Monroe.

Are we sure the CPP shocks are oil filled? Says nitrogen gas charged on their site.
