When sealant do you use on air fittings

I had read lots of people used loctite 545 so I purchased a big bottle for my install. I ended up developing a leak on a pipe plug on the tank and purchased some of the primer to use with 545 to help get a better chance of sealing.

I think it is now sealed (maybe) but I still have a leak somewhere on the tank side (I am running the Vu4 manifold) and I am going to be adding the front air bags and control arms soon so I will be finding my leak then as well as putting the front stuff in. I want to have the best chance of sealing good and not have to pull the front bags back out to hunt a leak.

What do you use, how do you apply it if you do anything special, etc??? I thoug a did a great job on the original install. Gave it about 2 days to cure the 545 so well past the non-primed timeframe of 24 hours. So apparently I did something wrong.
