Re: Daddyjeep Hauler - 85 K30 crew cab short bed
I finally finished my rendering showing all the custom things I want to build for the truck. I am building the bumpers, making some sort of custom grill, and making a custom hood. The rendering also will be my final paint scheme.
[IMG][/IMG] I picked up another hood to start building my newer HD inspired hood for my favorite price...free. It had a little dent in the middle with some old bondo that was chipping off. I ended up cutting the bad section out anyway so that is not an issue. [IMG][/IMG] I took off all the paint to see how the hood was overall and aside from a couple small dings it is pretty good. It is hard to see, but I laid out some lines on where the different levels are going to end up. [IMG][/IMG] I am following the angle of the outer body line on the hood for all of the steps and will be raising the center 4" overall and the first step 2"...I think. I will mock things up to see how it looks before I make the side panels. I at least got the center piece cut out. I cut 10" out of the center of that to shorten it up front to back. This will create the opening for the ram air. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] The center is sitting on a couple 2x4's in the pic. Again, I am not sure on the overall height yet. Does anyone have any experience with ram air? I am wondering about driving in the rain. Is there typically anything done to prevent the water from getting to the air cleaner?
