Plastic or Bronze Hatch Hinge Bushings?

I'm replacing the bushings and pins on my hatch hinges. The old bushings (which I believe are original) are plastic (just like I found in the doors when I did those).

1) Should I go with bronze bushings in the hatch? (Shouldn't corrode or get stiff being exposed more than the door hinges?)

2) From pictures I've looked at, I think the pin heads should be on the outside on both (driver and passenger side) hinges?

I'm using Napa 675-5143 which includes bronze bushings.
