New Guy from MD with a Rare Truck

Morning All! My name is Donny and I'm from Maryland. I just picked up my first heavy truck and its a rare one. Hopefully you guys can help me on some history on this old girl as I'm still learning and researching these trucks.

The truck is a GMC 6500 V6 Crew Cab. I'm having trouble decoding the VIN but believe the truck to be a 1968-70 based on the marker lights and passenger cowl vent. Truck is alil rough but I think its worth saving seeing how rare it is. I'll include a picture of the VIN so hopefully one of you gurus can help decode it. Thanks!
