My classic rides

I have a Chevelle. I always wanted one, so when the opportunity presented it's self I bought it. It is exactly the car I wanted: 1966 SS 396 4-speed Convertible. It is my "dream car" and I own it.
Problem is It's not done ...not even close. It's all there, it's solid, straight and numbers matching. The problem with that car is It deserves to be restored properly [correctly]. That takes a lot of time and money...so it sets. (12 years now) It's inside, stored properly, it's safe and out of harms way. Hopefully, someday I'll be able to give it the attention it needs. In the mean time ...it sets.

Great car, but that ain't no fun.
This brings me to the C10.
I always wanted a 67 or 68 Short wide C10, so I finally got one. Nothing special. 327, granny 4-speed, stripped down plane jane with rusty rockers and a couple dents.

My dream truck? nope, but it sure is fun. Best part about it is, I can do whatever I want to it. As long as I use quality parts, do good work and don't do anything stupid, it's all good. So, since I can't afford a cherry ride, and I can't restore my dream car just yet, ...I can drive the holy living crap out of my little blue truck. I literally can't drive that truck without smiling. I love it, dents rust and all. Nothing is polished, nothing is buffed. I can drop in ANY motor/drivetrain combo I want, modify anything I see fit, No wrong choices.
Only one rule: I make sure that truck is NEVER tore down for more than 1 month at a time. EVER.
Keep it dirty, keep it runnin'. It's more fun that way.
That's what I'm thinking right now.
