Heater hose connection at pump?

The hose connector at the water pump for the hose to the heater comes in different hole sizes for flow rate.(I think)
I have 3 different ones and don't know which one to use.(Stock 350 72c10)
How do I figure out which one to use?
What does the different flow rate do to the heater?
Is it more flow = more heat and does that mean the engine temp takes longer to get to temp.
Is it less flow = faster engine temp so faster heat?
Or is it something else.
Thanks K.E.N.
