Aftermarket inner fenders for air bags

I know of and have seen pictures of many different styles of aftermarket inner fenders for bagged trucks, they all look like they keep dirt, water, dust etc. out of the engine bay but my question is do they also keep that from the fender? Once you cut out the required metal from the front fenders for tire clearance and then ditch the factory inner fenders wouldn't that then allow dirt and water to fling up into the seams of the fenders? I need some inner fenders but I can't seem to find any pictures of how they seal off the fenders themselves. Anyone know?
