Shifter lever “Wobble”

My gift over seems too easy to pull back (out of the detent) before shifting gears, like the detent spring doesn’t have enough pressure to give a firm feel.
I have a tilt column from a 72 Blazer that I bought a long time ago on eBay.
When I installed the column, I had to put the lever back on.
It could be that I didn’t put the sprin in correctly, or that it does have the right spring. I don’t know.
Is there a source out there for this little detent spring that I speak of?
And, is there a secret to installing said spring, so that it’ll work correctly?
Thanks in advance
