Orientation of drum brake adjuster bar

I have the front drum brakes open on the passenger side. It is for a 1969 C-10 1/2 ton pickup. This is a look at the pushing edge of the auto adjuster bar.

And this is the way it was oriented to push the star wheel. Is this incorrect and the auto adjuster bar is from the driver side brakes? I'm not sure if the indented edge is supposed to stick out like that, or stick in towards the star wheel. If I had to guess it seems logical the indented edge of the adjuster bar would be sticking in toward the teeth of the star wheel that it's pushing down against.
