Re: 84 C10 Project
I just measured it using the rear bed mounting bolt as a reference point. It looks like this will clear that bed brace by 1/4"! Just barely made it.

Re: 84 C10 Project
Thanks for the words.... I was always worried it might not get low enough without changing the crossmember, but I like the more "hot rod" stance, so I think it will be alright. Do you have a build page for yours?

Got some more work done on it this weekend. Still have to mount the VIAIR compressors. But half the frame is painted.

Re: 84 C10 Project
I liked the notch. The frame is straight in that section so it fit well, and it is only $39.

Re: 84 C10 Project
Got the rear suspension back together and everything painted. Just have to paint the driveshaft, and the rear backing plates and drums. It is getting there though, and i am impressed with the Eastwood Chassis Black.

Re: 84 C10 Project
I am running 3/8" valves with 3/8" air line. Ordering them next week, and probably end up going with SMC's.

Re: 84 C10 Project
Nice build man. Did you say you used eastwood something to paint your frame? Where did you get it? and What did you like/dislike about using it?

Re: 84 C10 Project
I used Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black. I don't have any dislikes, other that the cost. It works really well, and bonds well to the metal. I used their primer as well, but I am sure it works equally as well with another brand of good primer.

Re: 84 C10 Project
Just ordered valves. I ended up using ASCO 3/8" valves, which is what Macs Springs recommended.
I am hoping to have them installed by this weekend, and the bed back on. |

Re: 84 C10 Project
Will do.....
I also worked on another rendering idea last night. Let me know what you guys think. Not quite as bright, but very clean and simple looking. Which I like. ![]() Last edited by Pro Performance; 02-21-2013 at 01:48 PM. |

Re: 84 C10 Project
I kind of got an idea of where I want to mount my 2 compressors. The leader hose is a little bit of a stretch but I think it will work.

Re: 84 C10 Project
I like the newest rendering a lot. But I think it might look better with the brushed wheels.

Re: 84 C10 Project
Made a lot of progress in the last couple days. Got the gas tank and brackets cleaned up, and the picture shows the gas tank half painted, but it is done now. I Painted the frame rail underneath the cab, and under coated the bottom side of the cab. I also removed the tranny crossmember, and and painting that now also.

Re: 84 C10 Project
Got the bed on this weekend, but like some of you thought, the cross member I added on top of the frame, does hit the be floor. So now, I think I am going to put a small raised section in there for the rear center to clear better, and the cross member. I really don't want to re-do the cross member on top of the frame and cut that our of there.
