#%$& !!!
Well as some of you may have read in my posts, my Rockwell T-221 transfer case has been leaking like a sieve lately, even worse than usual (I had to put in a quart of gear oil a week). Today I drove to my gf's house, and it was fine. It only left a couple drops on her driveway. However, when I drove it home, the truck started to shudder and make a funny noise that sounded kind of like "WAAAH WAAAH WAAAH" but very slowly and very low pitched, but only at or above 2,000 rpm. Its less than a 5 min drive home, so I figured I would be ok, but it shortly stopped making the noise and shuddering. I went home to get my work clothes, and when i came out of my house (I was inside less than 2 min) there was a puddle of gear oil about the size of a baseball. I figured it was normal for my truck, so I drove to work (about 10 min on the highway). The noise and shuddering happened on and off on the way to work. When I came out of work tonight, I discovered that ALL of the gear oil from the transfer case was on the ground, and still dripping a little bit (out of the rear output). I am up sh*t creek because this truck is my daily driver. I left it in the parking lot over night. Anyone know what could be wrong? I havent got a chance to look it over. Sorry for the long post.

UPDATE: something went wrong....very very wrong. Since we could not find a rear output seal at one of the parts stores open on sunday, dad and I just decided to top off the transfer and drive it home where the tools are. About 2 miles from home, it starts making a horrible groaning clanking noise when I compression brake. Then the speedo stops working. Then, it starts making the noise all the time, so I shut the truck off and coasted to the berm. My dad pulled up and suggested I just crawl home in 2nd since it sounds like the transfer was already broken. Then...it won't start. Solenoid just clicks. Mind you, the oil press. gauge never wavered before I shut the truck off. When we got it home, it won't start even when hooked to a battery charger, so I drained the oil. No pieces of metal in the oil, and i got out about 4.5 quarts. The rear driveshaft (2 pc) does not have excessive slop. We used a flywheel turning tool to turn the harmonic balancer, and it turns ok, perhaps a lil hard. I have no idea what happened, guessing the transfer since the speedo went out. Any thoughts?
p.s. the icing on the cake was when I had to get towed home by a Ford Super Duty.
