Opinion on stripe placement
I originally posted this in the general board thinking that more folks would have an opinion, but maybe the paint guys dont look at that one.
I am painting stripes on my sons blazer to break up the two tone. I want them to mimic the original style black and anodized aluminum trim. But I dont want them to look like poorly done imitations. I have the verticle spacing of the stripes lined out, but I am torn as to where to stop and start them front to back. I painted the first layer today and I'm just not sure. At the fenderwells I ended the stripe right at the dimple at the fender lip. At the doors and fenders I wrapped them around. I think I need one or the other. Let me know what you think Thanks Lynn |

Re: Opinion on stripe placement
No help here but that looks good. Maybe you could post later on how you are doing it and colors. Take more pics.

Re: Opinion on stripe placement
I would take the stripe all the way around the edges like the doors are..i think it would have a more finished look to it

Re: Opinion on stripe placement
Ill take some pics when it is finished.
Mongo, thats what I am leaning towards. The top stripe may be a bit wierd where it connects with the tail light bezel, but I will play with it some |

Re: Opinion on stripe placement
I think if it were actual molding, with the dimensional look, it would look fine stopping short..
but with paint and decals not so much

Re: Opinion on stripe placement
I finished the stripes last night. I've got about 16 hours in masking behind me
I got 1 coat of clear on and wound up with an awful run, so I just stopped right there and will sand and recker tomorrow |
