Agreed. SSTim taught me that, whatever happened to that dude? I didn't alter the new SPID to match some changes under the rebuild, and I don't know why anyone would short of deception.

Yikes, no kidding. Trailing arms??? 70 down gas pedal, rear view mirror on the roof, no wood grain glove box... I pretty sure whoever put the trim on was drunk. there’s a bunch of other things not right, but not trying to pick apart the build. No spid interestingly enough...

No kidding right, a prospective buyer has recourse. Buyer beware and that, but selling something that aint is another. Just a few "unmodified"

Unmodified chrome tailpipes
Unmodified wiper blades
Unmodified fuel cap
Unmodified wheels
Interesting unmodified dealer badges on the cowl panel.
Unmodified door edge trim?
Somehow the wood grain moldings look unmodified to me.
Unmodified questionable paint job.
Unmodified 350 dual exhaust, unmodified mud flaps, and unmodified receiver hitch crowned by a sport bumper, this is LOADED
Unmodified steering wheel & pedal
Unmodifed rearview mirror location

I’ve seen enough

Re: eBay Cheyenne Super -- Another Fake SPID

This one was just reposted a few hrs ago - a poor attempt at a fake SPID. If only the seller would realize that a CCE VIN was for a 2WD truck... and that 4x4s couldn't be ordered with big blocks... or that Supers couldn't have black vinyl bench trim.... (believe we've already talked this one to death in another thread, but, to me, this one epitomizes intentional deceptive advertising, with a SPID built to mislead). https://yakima.craigslist.org/cto/d/...154652205.html

39K miles since unmodified

They know what makes up a "numbers matching" 72 C/K too, these guys are rich. One area that makes this most rare is the Super interior, where only the brake pedal & door panels agree. They "only" want 45K for it, 7-8 guys are positioning themselves on Ebay, 15K with 5 hours to go. EDIT: $15,300 was as high as it got. Appears the bidders are informed. That or just cheap

Here's the rest of the truck. Really the engine bay is in decent order, but no way this chassis has only seen 39K miles unless it lived life on a dirt road. https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/S...enne-Super-4x4

Nice truck though right.....Did you notice the "Model =" on the SPID?

Unless the owner has the original SPID then you cannot really say what actually came on the truck unless you have the original build sheet.

If someone has purchased a "new" or "replacement" SPID there is absolutely no way of proving that what they had placed on SPID is accurate or true, because the factory did not print that SPID but you are going on the word of the owner only. Even if the owner did not intend for it to be fake that doesnt change the fact that the information is fake and incorrect.

Was the seat cover in the original style like the truck came with from the factory or did they "upgrade" it to a more fancy or more desirable "deluxe" style of cover?

Just my opinion though

It gets worse, that Vin plate is off of 2WD 3/4 ton 127 wheelbase truck and as 57 taskforce note, held on with hardware store rivets. You know the VIN doesn’t match between the door plate and the frame, the deceptive SPID, how the truck is being represented in the ad - I think this truck falls into the category of full on fraud. If someone purchases the truck from out of state and their state requires a Vin inspection for out-of-state vehicles things could get ugly in a hurry..........

Re: eBay Cheyenne Super -- Another Fake SPID

Some of you guys (e.g. Jocko) should go into business as the "authority" on hired for consultation "before you buy". These trucks are so popular now, it's kind of remarkable, I remember one every block still into the 90s.

I wonder what the cost is to establish a website for that and more? I know someone who can contribute to model/test short programming it. Might even contribute a slick manual and material late next year, he hopes

Re: eBay Cheyenne Super -- Another Fake SPID

Good idea, and I'm sure most experts here would offer up their advice for free. Unfortunately a lot of people don't know about this site. I know if I were looking at a nicely outfitted or restored C/K, this forum would be the first place I would go for a sanity check.
