To get the 1976 Lincoln Mark IV rear to bolt-in we had to cut off the shock brackets and control arm brackets. We then cut the control arm mounts off our original rearend housing. The mounts were slightly grounded down to custom fit the Lincoln rearend housing. Once the mounts are made to fit then the rear was placed under the truck with the u-bolts and mounts loosely mounted to allow proper alignment. Once the adjustments were made we tack welded the control arm mounts, then we removed the rear to get a better weld on the mounts. We then placed the rear back under the truck and bolted it in. As for the panhard we had to extend it and had to weld a bracket to the control arm. We also welded a tie rod into the panhard to make it adjustable. You can also buy a adjustable panhard made for our trucks just for this conversion. Setup the emergency lines and brake lines. You may also want to change the proportioning valve if the rear brakes remain under pressure after releasing the brake pedal. I didn't seem to have that problem, so I left my proportioning valve alone. The whole setup takes a little work, but you get a Ford 9" with a third member that can be swapped out easily if you want a different gear ratios nd best of all disc brakes.
