I'm pretty sure there were more than one body plant for Fisher with the number of these trucks that were built in the different assembly plants around the country. I just don't know how many there were.

I know the first gen F-bodies are very different car to car let alone plant to plant so the trucks probably are too. I have owned 14 different first gen Camaro's and every one had pretty significant panel fit issues not due to damage. One car had a passenger side quarter panel that was 1/4" longer than the other side of the car and it was all original with original paint still.

Dude that's just crazy! And I had always heard that Fisher was best of the big three back then!! If they were that bad I wonder how bad Ford and Mopar's were??

It's no wonder these aftermarket parts fit well on some trucks and not so well on others. Thanks for the input. (14 Camaro's,,,, lucky dog!)

so with these body panels are there different bolt holes and spacers as well? and should i be concerned with front end parts? i.e. front passenger fender for my 72? also if i pulled a front end from a custom c/30 motor-home will it fit on a '69 c/20 camper special?

I think most of the fitment issues are with the welded in patch panels and I've heard some guy's having issues using aftermarket doors, your fenders should bolt on without too much trouble.

Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)

So I finally got around to de-greasing the engine and the front 1/3 of the frame and suspension.
.
,
.
.
And I went back to work on the core support, instead of just drilling a hole through the core base, I made a slot so I'd have some adjust ability.
.
,
.
.
Since the frame is a little long, I cut some off and removed the radiator core support frame mounts.

Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)

I mounted the frame mounts to the core support.
.
.
,
.
Then I mounted the core support to the front fenders, and welded the frame mounts back on the frame in the correct location.

Thanks again guys!!! I had a touch of the walking pneumonia last week but still managed to get some work done on the old girl. It will be nice to have a radiator in her since the HOT weather is almost here. I actually do drive the truck into and out of the shop to work on her, but without the radiator I had to move kinda quick to keep the temp down on the engine. More insanity to come!

Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)

On the first post of this build I talked about owning a lot of cool cars over the years,, one of those cars paid me a visit last night (68 TT should like this). Of all the cars I've owned this was the coolest, a 1968 Firebird 400 with the deluxe interior. I sold the car 15 years ago and now a shirt tail relative of mine owns it, he needed my expert diagnosis on a problem he was having with her and dropped by and let me take her for a test spin. Lets just say she's not as pretty as when I owned her, but she's still got what it takes to impress. Wish I had 11k to buy her back!! (maybe I could sell the wife??)

Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)

Still working on the front end,,,what a jig-saw puzzle! Putting the a/c condenser in was pretty straight forward but the rest of the under hood items are proving to be a lot of fun!
.
,
.
.
In order to permanently locate things like the battery, the fuse panel, the computer, the over flow tank and the windshield washer fluid bottle I have to have the inner fenders properly re-sized and fitted in place,,, what a lot of work!!

Kinda bittersweet when you even see one that you owned much less get to drive it again.

Yeah your right,,,what's even worse is how well that thing still drives and handles,,,for a 44 year old car you just don't expect that kind of performance. Brings back a lot of memories for sure.

I know what you mean Wade. I had mine out about 4-5 times or more on each side to get the areas trimmed to make them fit in there. Keep up the great work!

Yeah, there's just no other way to do it. I guess it's necessary if you want to have inner fenders. thanks for the props,,more fun and excitement to come.
