How about driprail trim, did any trucks escape the factory with it installed on them?

I am not sure if cab clearance lights are rare, but I haven't seen them on too many other trucks. Rare or not, they look cool

6 cyl. tach

Nope, a 6 cyl. tach has different electronic components than a V8 thus is not adjustable.

My blazer has a "front axle engage" light. The old guy I bought it from said it came off the lot that way, maybe dealer installed, but not on the glovebox sticker and I don't have any documentation for it. Anyone else ever see one just left of the radio?

Dad's 67 K-20 has "no spin" axles listed in the option sheet. We've never had the diff's opened up on it, but they act like spools......no slip anywhere......man is it a bear to try to turn in the mud.

An axle ingage indicator light?? What about PTO shafts off of the transfer case on a 4x4? I know it is not a Chevy but my '68 Bronco has a factory PTO driven front winch. It uses a two piece drive shaft 1/2" in diameter to drive it. I have never seen one of those on another Bronco or a Chevy. How about a dealer installed bb in a '67? The 396 were in the cars in '65.

In the pickup I would have to say the center seating position shoulder belt seat belts, or dealer installed GM CB radio.
For Suburban or Panel I would have to say the rear aux. heater, or dealer installed GM CB radio..

I've seen a 67 Chevy 4x4 with a factory PTO. Exited out the back bumper. Also had a factory tach.

vacuum gauge

The vacuum gauges were used on the 1/2 ton trucks on up, not just on the big trucks.

No rust on the rockers or cab corners here...

...and I have the center lap belt (original).

Weirdest thing I have ever seen is the dash mounted throttle control.

Is that even legal anymore?

I can just see my 5 year old leaning forward and giving it a good pull while i am sitting in traffic

Were intermittent wipers an option in '72?

I am not sure I even understand how a center shoulder belt would be set up...would it be attached to the roof above the rear window or behind the seat?

The dash mounted throttle control is not that uncommon here in the Northeast. If you think about it, it's purpose was to raise the engine's rpm's while not actively driving. This allowed auxillary equipment such as PTO's and hydraulic plows to work more efficiently when the driver did not have foot on gas. I've parted at least 3 4x4 trucks that had this option, all used for plowing. I also know of a 72 1 ton stake body with this option, I presume it has a PTO. So that's 3 out of the 30 some odd I've parted, plus one still in use. I'd say that this option is as rare in warmer climates as a heater delete is here!

I think you'll find rare items to be regional in some instances. Another example of the regional thing is GMC's vs. Chevys. I know people say GMC's are almost non-existent in their area but I know of several small towns with long-time GMC dealerships where you'll find 67-72 GMC's outnumber Chevy's.

How rare (or not) is the toolbox in the side of the bed?

If the door is not rusted and latch is not busted, it's rare. Otherwise, though not common, not real rare either.

What about rear leaf springs on a 1/2 ton chevy or rear coils on a 1/2 ton GMC. I did a little research and discovered that the GMC truck came stock with leaf springs with an option to have coil springs and the chevy came stock with coil springs and had the option of leaf springs!!

What about the optional clock

I talkled to a guy who bought one of the last ones avaliable. I think it was made by Stewart Warner, or whoever made gauges for GM back then It was not really officially an option. It was printed up in a few GM accessory catalogs for late '72. It had a part number buy wasn't largely advertised.

If a GMC with coils is rare, than just about everyone I have ever seen is rare. I have only seen 2 GMC trucks that had leaf springs. The option sheet never says coils either. (like My 69 Short/fleetGMC) I know it is said to be stock leaf optional coil....but I just don't believe it, seen too many 'rare ones'.
