Air shocks can be good if you do occasional hauling and need a bit of support. I personally havn't had a use for them but then again, I dont haul much stuff or have a trailer.

questin about posi
I always thought of posi rear ends as completely locked differential all the time. Now that I think about it, do the wheels always turn together, or only when spinning? Like when you turn in a small circle, one wheel will turn more than the other, or will both turn the same amount? I used to think that you would get lots of tire wear with a posi, but i dunno. dumb question but .
Very nice truck, wish I could work that fast.

With a posi you can turn turn corners and the "limited slip" or "posi" differential will allow one axle or the other to slip a small amount. This allows you to turn sharp turns without wearing the tires.
Now a Spool on the other hand is probably what your thinking about. It causes both rear tires to turn at the same speed no matter what the condition. They are "locked" together. |

Just thought I'd let you know, Piston, that I made it back in one piece from my road trip from picking up that 383 short block. 1500 miles exactly in just under 30 hours!! Whew, I'm tired - Going to go take a nap now before my family and me head to the beach on vacation. 1500 miles - what's another 3 or 400 tonight - LOL.
Robert

Robert, It was good to meet you and your dad. Glad you guys had a safe trip!
Also wanted to thank every one here for helping with my project. I hated to sell all those parts but it will help complete the truck and pay a few other bills. I can't believe all that stuff sold within 1 week!!!!!! This is a great place |
