Re: my patinia'd 69

well i havent done much with the truck i have put a ton of miles on it it drives like a dream all i have done is replaced the windshield with the deluxe one, deluxe vent windows, and upgraded to a 4 core radiator i also picked up this 68 gmc i have been messing with it but i have been quite sick so i cant do much right now so far i have replaced the glass in it, started rust repairs, lowered the back, did a chevy grille conversion and removed most of the sweet farm truck accessories!

Re: my patinia'd 69

Got a little done on the 68 I rebuilt the floor and recovered the seat in Mexican blanket and the 69 got a little work new hei, fuel pump, filter, breather/pcv. I have had a ton of people ask to buy it lately so I must be doing something right but I've decided on porterbuilt all the way around ill upload some pictures of everything when I get back to town

Re: my patinia'd 69

well the parts list goes a little something like this,
- ridetech upper and lower control arms
front
-cpp modular 2.5 inch drop spindles with brake mounts
-cpp drilled and slotted rotors
- wilwood d52 calipers with sport pads
- porterbuilt stage 1 front kit
-15 inch vintique wheels with bare centers 6 lug
-jegs 1/4 inch wheel spacers
-napa alignment shims
-long acre alignment tool
-accuair e-level
-dual 480c vair compressors
- chrome 5 gallon tank
rear
-dominator 2500 bags
-my own bag plates
-my own 2 inch drop blocks
-my own long panhard bar going from stock frame mount to opposing drop block
-my own 3 inch c-notch
-lengthened u-bolts from a local shop
if your just starting out you might have a hard time coming up with the money to do all of this so build what you can if you are able to and can do quality work. dont risk the health of others by throwing something together just to save a buck. and i highly recommend ridetech products they might seem a little spendy but they come powdercoated. porterbuilt is also excellent but remember you have to do the finish on those parts which can add up quick. there are tons of threads on building your own parts and modifying your control arms and crossmember. do a bunch of research and know what your getting into. if it seems daunting then work on other parts of the truck until you are confident in your knowledge and work. heres the rear of mine so you can see what i built as well as how low it got using just ridetech lowers with all stock suspension.

Re: my patinia'd 69

Wow that's gotta be one of the collets and most simple designs for a interior heater box I love all the room it gives under the dash and man really cleans up below there not having to see any boxes!

Re: my patinia'd 69

Thank you, I'm not sure why gm didn't just build it that way to start with it has way better flow. But I'm actually going to build a new one so the heater core is in the cab with a push fan inside so it recycles the hot air and allows me to get rid of the big fiberglass heater box

Re: my patinia'd 69

Thank you and im pretty confident on how to do everything but weld but my great grandpa is great at it so he said he would help!...i dont want to go to extreme right now though so could i just buy dominator bags and replace the coils in all 4 corners with those and run schrader valves on top of them would that work?

Re: my patinia'd 69

You can do it that way but take my word you will be doing it over. It's a terrible addiction I'm wanting to go dropmember now but I have another truck with one so I'll keep this as a daily. And with the Schrader valves I would run tubing from the bags to the bumpers so you can fill it up without having to crawl inside the truck

This sure is a cool project. Love the transformation you have made on the truck.
I have to say, I have shop envy after seeing all the empty space in the pictures.

Re: my patinia'd 69

If you want I have a center console with the air gauges and paddle valves all you will have to do is use your air tank as the supply line to them then later you can add compressors and a tank like I did. Take a look and see if you want to build one
