Re: "Sweet Pea" 1975 Cheyenne 20
That is a nice looking steering wheel. I have a Buick steering wheel in mine, wish it was tilt like yours!

Thank you! Yeah it’s growing on me. I have the original, but it’s missing the Woodgrain trim piece and it’s super gummy. I love having the tilt! It’s so cool to have a well optioned truck, after most of my old rides were bare bones rigs.

Re: "Sweet Pea" 1975 Cheyenne 20
So the speaker wires from the radio just connect to the amp ? Just that easy ? Also how do you like the sound from the fr. speakers being in the center ?

The sound quality in the truck is very good. I am not a huge audiophile, and I’m sure there’s a better setup for a true surround sound system, but all I know is that when I hop in and crank up some AC/DC it sounds frickin awesome!!

Re: "Sweet Pea" 1975 Cheyenne 20
Got my wheels in!! Wheel Vintiques 16x8's. Pretty pumped to see them arrive, as Jegs had them back ordered clear till June. Now I just have to work on getting them painted white. On the fence between powder coat and rattle can. Local PC place quoted $125 A WHEEL! Which is more than they cost each! Anybody been down this road before? Is it even worth trying to save a buck and doing a scuff and spray?

Re: "Sweet Pea" 1975 Cheyenne 20
I'd say rattle can those wheels and put them on. You'll be into it a couple of cans of paint which is no big loss if you decide to PC them later if you find a better price. Era correct plates are cool.

Re: "Sweet Pea" 1975 Cheyenne 20
Maybe it's been mentioned, but it looks like there is media blast material stuck in the seam? I wanted to get a set of rallies blasted and PC'd here in town and the company didn't want to do it because of that exact problem; getting that two-piece seam cleaned before powder coating???
Truck looks terribly awesome!! Very Nice.

Re: "Sweet Pea" 1975 Cheyenne 20
Added new weather stripping today around the cab. Did the upper door seal as well as the complete cab weatherstrip kit from Brothers.
Untitled by awesome_adawson, on Flickr Comparison of the old to the new. Untitled by awesome_adawson, on Flickr Used Permatex super weatherstrip adhesive for the upper cab stripping. It all went on pretty easily, only had to remove a few pieces of the trim to fit the weather strip in, but overall it was about a 1 hour install. The only downfall now is that the cab is sealed so well that you really have to slam the crap out of the doors to get them shut.

Also, got some fabric samples from SMS Fabrics, looking to have a fresh seat cover made... thinking plaid inserts and green vinyl surround, like a play on the Highlander seats...
