Re: 66 frame off resto-mod

We had to re-locate the ECU as wiring was a little tight.

I could have paid for the extension of the harness, but this is a driver, not a show truck so everything was moved to the drivers side inner fender.

Re: 66 frame off resto-mod

Well, We ran into an issue with my fan...

Name: IMG_0662.jpg
Views: 1925
Size: 104.9 KB
It was an older fan and mount but it was too thick and hit the front pully

Name: IMG_0656.jpg
Views: 1917
Size: 44.1 KB

A new Spal fan was thin enough, but we have to now fab up a upper mount

It is, it's a 1-55242-X. When I got the truck, it had the fan grounded to it so Electrolysis eat the bottom hose fitting. Griffin sent me a new lower hose fitting (for free) and I had it welded in. They are a great company that supports their product!

Here are the latest Pic:

We ran into some issues with the digital dash hookup. It is an older one and it is proving to be difficult to work with. We may just go with a new set...

Re: 66 frame off resto-mod

Well, with all the issues with my old gauge set, I decided to get a new set. I found the ones I liked and ordered them yesterday. I picked the Speedhut Legacy series http://www.speedhut.com/ because they would work with my shortened stock fuel sending unit (the fuel gauge is programmable so I don't have to cut another hole in my tank to read 250 ohms empty and 90 ohms full), use stepper motors and modern sending units (pressure transducers), come with a full harness, and finally are customizable in looks. I choose white gauge faces with reverse glowing dark green numbers, I'll post pics when they come in.

I used the same product in my '69 and it worked wonderful! It conforms to the cab floor very well and was VERY inexpensive.

They are the stock vents that come with the Vintage Air kit taken out of the under-dash bracket.

It wasn't too bad, Current Performance did the hard part as everything was tagged as to where it goes.
