6 cyl to sb v8 engine bracket question ???
i have just bought my first 69 chevy c10 pickup.it orginaly had a 6 cyl.in it.i am putting in a 350 v8.i bought sb engine brackets and am confused as to witch holes in the frame to bolt them to.the 6 cyl brackets used the rear 2 holes, but the sb brackets look like they should go in the front 2 holes.there are 3 holes in the frame on each side .does anyone know what is correct? also, is the short water pump the correct pump to use.? thanks

thanks for clearing that up for me.i thought i was going to have to flag down a 67-72 truck and ask to look under thier hood to find out! the reason i thought the brackets might need to go back is because the headman elite headers i am installing are rubbing on the ends of the lower control arm shafts.

You can mount that in on the 6/250 stands,if you are having clearance problems......mine is done that way. What is the part # on the headers?

hed-69890 headman headers.i thought about going with the block hugger headers or the tight tube headers or even the vett 2 1/2" dump rams horn manifolds but i heard that they don't fit ?

That header should fit the truck....can you loosen the eng stands,& trans mount,& slide the eng/trans back a fraction of an inch?

well, i had to slide them all the way foward for the holes to line up on the x member and trans mount(turbo 350).the x member doesn't have enlongated slots where the trans mount bolts go through. i guess i could enlongate them my self and that may give me a 1/2" of clearance.(the gears in my brain are turning now).

Yup ,thats what I did on mine....slotted trans crossmember,& drilled the motor mount holes oversized. I run a V8 in 6 position,& that lets me "cheat" a little for clearance on the HEI. It sounds like you have a plan, good luck........69 longhorn.
