dang vt is that yours ive never seen pics of that one , that is one sweet rig right there now , love everything about it , it remionds me alot of our late friend Leroy's , green monster and ian i also love your guys blazers as well , well i love em all , just some more than others lol

OK, since we are getting silly.
6 inch suspention and 3 inch body on 38x15.50 with 10 inch wheels.

Well...the final verdict was 4 more inches. After seeing it finished I can't believe I was thinking about not doing it. Along with that I got a new rear seal and pretty much changed every gasket. No more little annoying leaks. Also I changed the body mounts...not fun.

Todays project is to vacuum out metal shavings, get the hand prints off the side and get digital camera out take pictures and figure out how to post a couple.

Thanks for all the pictures it made huge difference in my decision.

You could also just get your leaf spings re-arched from a shop and have them add 2 extra leafs. I did that on two of my 1972 Blazers w/BFG 33x12.50x15 on 15X10's and they never rubbed and looked great. A lot easier and cheaper than a lift kit.

I just got through putting 4" on mine, haven't got the body back on frame yet. One thing if you are planning on doing the work yourself.. not too bad "BUT" I had 35 years of rust and corroison to fight in order to get the steering arm off. you gonna put a lift on you need to change that. It is a time consuming and I am not sure if there is an easy way to remove it. I tried penetraing oil, soaked overnite, heat lots of heat, BAH (Big A__ Hammer) and finally had to blow the conical washer out with a torch. and they are hard if not impossible to find.
Also you will have to have your drive shaft lengthened and refit or as I call it retro fit your emergency brake brackets.
I am sure there are more experienced guys than I that can give you some other hints. and helpful ideas.

The lift wasn't all that bad. It took two of us approx. 3 hours. All came apart real easy and the place I do most of my work has a lift so no bending over and axle stands. The washers were starting to be a bit of a issue but just pulled out the welder and laid a nice bead around them and a couple of whacks with a hammer and success. I had all new washers and bolts that came with the lift.

Now the body mounts being replaced was a little bit more of a challenge around 5 hours total.

Now the problem I have is my wife is having problems getting in. Does anyone know where I can purchase some steps like Igor has on his blue rig? Or something like it. I don't want a full nerf bar.

I bought a single step years ago. when I was dating a short woman. so she could get in my Z-71 and I think it was made by summit...not too bad price wise..

When I worked a grocery store in high school, there was a rather larger lady that had a lifted truck. Getting in was a bit of an issue for her. She got a milk crate, tied one end of a rope to it and the other to the steering wheel. Climb in, pull up the crate, good to go...

Come on Bouncytruck she maybe a little poofier after two kids but she isn't that big yet!

She actually takes the Blazer to work on occasion and has to wear a dress sometimes and just thought it wouldn't be to lady-like.

Welcome back Igor and thanks for the website. Did you just use the Blazer ones? I didn't see a 1969-1972 model. Pretty good price tag not to get the right ones.

You will have to fabricate some mounting. THey do not sell steps or nerf bars that just bolt on.

I had some steps like IGOR's I was going to put on my '69 but I never got around to it. Make sure you get the kind with the flat, horizontal mounting so you can mount them to the rocker boxes.

IGOR, do you have a pic of how your's are mounted?
