Brake Upgrades/lockout hub

couple of questions.

1. For those that have upgraded brakes. Is it better to go with Hydro brakes or put a 1ton power brake booster in place of the half ton.

2. I replaced upper and lower ball joints on my truck. I had to take the hub apart. Know the hub will not come out of lock. So, I had an extra hub from my old 72 1/2 4x4. The hubs are no where near the same. So, question is how do I get the hub unlocked and why do you think the hubs are different.

What year is the axle you're trying to put the 72 hub on. If i'm not mistaken, the 72's were different to previous years.

Re: Brake Upgrades/lockout hub

I have a 72 blazer with a dana 44 up front and the truck was a 72 1/24x4 with a dana 44. I thought they would be the same, but when I ordered inner and outer tie rods I had to get one that went on 1 ton truck in order to make it fit. So, I guess they may be different, but I have been messing with these trucks for awhile and really have never encountered this kind of problem before thanks for the advice
