+1 I've washed mine a lot with the top off. Its not that hard to control the water.

Have you thought about using a four link instead of the trailing arm setup? I think that this would yield better results. Like previously mentioned Gringoloco and a few other have done this conversion. Try the search function using "conversion". Unfortunately "2wd" is too short for the search function to find. Where are you located? That thing looks familiar.
