Teaching your kid to PowerSlide and Spin Donuts (??)
So what should a responsible father teach is son at age 6 ??
Teach them how to drive like a nut, of course silly !!! I saved this old PowerWheels out of the Storage yard dumpster next to my building. It was pretty beat up, but looked like a runner !! So rather than buy the expensive 6volt PW batterys....I had TWO 12v sealed batterys from this zillion candle power flashlight... This thing is running @ like twice the recommended voltage !!! It will need some wheelie bars soon !!! A neighborhood father drove by and said his boy has the Escalade powerwheels...I was like "BRING IT ON !!!!" Check out the video here..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVwj7wf0VLk PS: IM GOING TO BE IN TROUBLE WHEN HE HITS 16 !!!!!

Re: Teaching your kid to PowerSlide and Spin Donuts (??)
When I first got it, I used one 18V Dewalt battery pack.....it ran good.
But now, with the dual 12v, it still uses the factory HI/LO switch. 'LO' run one 12 volt battery (stock hi speed) 'HI' run's it on 24 volts....we have had this for a while now....He jumps it off ramps, and takes it off-road....If you notice the front wheels are starting to show some Negative camber.... Motor doesn't show any signs of giving up (yet)...might have to add more !!! Thanks guys.....

Why did i not think about that, my boys have a john deere gator power wheels. Why not a sealed 12 volt car batt? or better yet i think there a few 6 volt optima forklift batteries at work. 3 in a series should do it. lol

Re: Teaching your kid to PowerSlide and Spin Donuts (??)
I found all these sites for 'modifing' these things....Most of them say 24v is too much (??)
These things use a 540 style motor...which was used in the old Tamiya R/C cars.....hhmmmmm...I thing I have some fast replacements from back in the day somewhere !!

Re: Teaching your kid to PowerSlide and Spin Donuts (??)
one of my coworkers got a yellow vw bug power wheels for his daughter and after the motor burnt out he put a weed eater motor in it and one of the funniest sights on earth is seeing a drunk 220 pound redneck doing about 30mph down the street riding a power wheels bug

Re: Teaching your kid to PowerSlide and Spin Donuts (??)
If he keeps driving like that, you can enter him in some ice driving races and he would ace them!
This will ultimately make him a better driver.

I like how he excercises caution and stays away from the cars. he also seems to be able to use a light pedal when needed. get a few other kids and see how he does in traffic, if ya know what I mean.
