Post What to do with extra 6 lug axles

I have three trucks that I converted from 6 hole to 5 hole. So I have three 6 lug axles that are in good shape taking up space in the shop.
The question is, will the 6 lug gears fit in my 5 lug axles? This is all half ton stuff so I think they are 10 bolt. If they don't fit I'll sell them cheap. If they do fit I might keep them around for parts.

if they are 12 bolt and are 1970( the 6 lug ones) then they are same length as 70-82 shafts, 82 was last year for the 12 bolt rear

the 6 lug 70 2wd shafts are same as the 70-up 4x4 shafts, all 12 bolt parts interchangwe internally all years

I am wondering this too. I am looking at changing from a 6 lug rearend to a 5 lug. Just wondering if the housings and all are the same, and maybe just change the axles themselves?
