Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild
I did not know if this would be the appropiate thread to share my latest addition but I have seen other guys sharing.
My third child was just born last friday also 9.5.08!!! he weighted 7'1 and measure 20 inches!!! I have a 19 year old son, 9 year old daughter and now the baby boy!!! All with the same wife and this one totally unplanned, but what a blessing..... This rebuild is going to be given to him by me once he is old enough. I have built my oldest son two vehicles including a single turbo supra and a 96 chevy 1500 swb...

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild
I went to the body shop today and the truck has very little to go.
Well while I wait I started looking for my new wheels and have narrowed my search to foose nitrous 20x10 in the rear and 18x8 up front.

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild
Hi Big Al. Sorry to read you can't make it to the west coast truck shown in atwater, ca. "Mi casa es su casa" if you change your mind. Those wheels will look sweet on the truck. Although, the ones in the pic are the Foose Nitrous II if i'm not mistaken. The Nitrous is one piece and the Nitrous II are two piece. I like the Nitrous II because they don't have the hex heads all around the inside of the wheel. Its a cleaner looking wheel. The combo you want should give it a nice rake. Post pics when they are on the chevy. Have good one. MisterE

Make sure to take lots of picts I like to see inspirational bad ass trucks...I think I might of typed the wrong name they are the nitrous II, the same reason why I like this instead is because they dont have the hex heads all around.Man I wish I could take the weekend off and fly out to california to that truck show but with a newborn and business it is not the right time to do so, maybe next year I can plan ahead...I am planning on going to the turkey rod run in novemember here in Daytona Beach in a couple of months. The re assembling began last night one of my guys is doing the re wiring as we speak, wish me luck because I know there will be plenty of obstacles sort of speak. Have a great one!! Albert

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild
Mike,
this is the mat I used http://www.thermotec.com/product_detail.php?prd_id=16 I used two rolls of it, price was $45.00 a roll I bought it locally at the performance shop. If you need another center rod I might have one in my tool box in the shop, let me know if you want it.

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild
The interior is almost finished, maybe a few more hours and it will be ready.
the wiring under the dash is done, steering column, shifter cable, kickdown cable, steering wheel, a/c is all wired in, accelerator pedal and cable all in. I also picked up the brand new drive shaft and installed it as well. We made big progress today. Then we will move back to the engine bay which I have a few days of work in it. Just waiting for the big brown truck. Went by the body shop and saw my hood painted, they are waiting for me finish assemblimg the engine bay so they can finish painting the rest of the parts fenders, doors and bed. Enjoy!!
