Can anyone tell me how often 3 speed automatic transmissions were used in 1966?. I assume that poweglides were still available but want to know if the 3 speed auto were 350 turbo hydomatics or 400's. Is a turbo hydramatic a rare option?.........Thanks

Re: 1966 3 speed auto?
Turbo 350s didn't come around until 69. I think 400s showed up in 66 or 67.

Re: 1966 3 speed auto?
They were available in 3/4 and 1 tons only in the first year of introduction 1966. It was an expensive $245 in 1966 dollars which is approx 10% of the total cost of truck. In todays dollars it would be around a $2000 option. A would guess less the 20% of C20's and had this option in 1966. Automatics started to gain in popularity ever since.
