well i feel like more sharing so here's my 63 nova's build up. my bro nicknamed it NOVACATION becauise it's been 8 yrs going, i've never used any vacation time to work on it and working on it was never a vacation. i'll try to put dates along with the pics but it's a long one... enjoy...

as received condition. sept 2000

Re: 63 4 door build up. NOVACATION

around Jan 2001 first thing done was a 4 lug to 5 lug conversion with parts i scored from the junkyard and a rearend i pulled back in 1994 from a nova i found abandoned in a rock quarry. degreasing it was the hardest part. i used paint thinner to make it soft, then lacquer thinner to break it loose. then degreaser after it all.

Re: 63 4 door build up. NOVACATION

Yep progress is slow on this one. i only worked on it on weekends that didn't have something else going on, life, honey do list, family, work, etc..... there's a tiny pic in my avatar of how it sits now. just needs to finish some wiring and done(for now)... there's a pic of it how it sits as of a couple months ago in Sams' build of Betty for a teaser....
i figure i put it on with all the pics i can find of it through the years. for prosperity sake... but then again it is still my project and i am still working on it

once it's road worthy i'm gonna get some shots of it at various surf spots here on the island.

You make it look so easy! haha.

Looking good man, and I can't wait for it to hit up some local spots.

Also, whats the yellow stuff you're putting on the rust repairs? I'm intrigued...

-Sam.

thanks again, it's been anything but easy. wait till i post the pics of the rust repair i did and body work, paint, etc. the yellow stuff is plain old Rustoleum. out here bare metal surface rusts in less than an hour. so after grinding and welding i had to put something on it. this was before they had the professional stuff. now that's the only thing i use. the flat black goes on fast, and dries nice. easy to take off too. i hate working on something, take a break come back and the salt in the air already starts attacking the metal. i live about a mile from the ocean but still it carries. you should see the aluminum intakes i have.
