Re: retrosound stereo, fit our trucks?

They do fit right into the dash and look pretty good, but I've seen people on here complain the retro units don't sound all that great. I was seriously thinking about getting one for my truck until I saw people bashing the sound quality. Anyone have any personal experiences they'd like to share?

Re: retrosound stereo, fit our trucks?

I have the only Custom Autosound stereo on the planet that actually works....at least that's what I have been told on this website I have looked at the Retrosound stereos also, and they look the same to me. They are not the best made units, that's for sure...but then again, none of them that are going to fit our trucks without cutting up the dash are very well made. I put Bose speakers with mine, and it sounds fantastic.
My other truck has a factory AM/FM in it, and although the sound is clear, the volume sucks. Once I fire up the truck, I can't even hear it anymore. 1972 technology vs. today's technology.

I have the retrosound radio in my truck, and it sounds great. easy to install, and it looks good, fit perfect in the stock radio opening.

Re: retrosound stereo, fit our trucks?

I was looking at this radio. Does anyone have any experience running amps/subs and higher end mid range with this head unit? If it works well, I'll probably end up buying one.

I don't think so - I have one in my truck and it has outputs for two amps, I think - if you call their customer service line, they are very helpful.

I guess I'll give one of these a shot before I cut my dash all to pieces... They're not break-the-bank expensive and I can spend my money on components, amps, and subs.
