The basic solid foundation is still there. Killer just needs to have his heart worked on, and some touch up surgery on his skin, and maybe a brow lift. A nip and a tuck here and there, and a few hours in a heated booth getting a new "tan" sprayed on, and Killer could be back. Just don't forget to disinfect the seat and steering wheel!!!

Re: Killers 5.3L install
Hey Killer,
First off I'm in Corrections so I hope the guy gets to rot in a prison for a while. No room for thieves and Chevy molesters on the street. I'm new to the board but your swap has been a regular visit for me. I have a 2005 DoD 5.3 from an Envoy Denali. I'm hung up on the wiring diagram. So is a friend of mine who also has one. Any chance you could send me a diagram? I've been sitting on this engine for three years now! I was just at the SEMA show in Vegas and talked to a Painless Wiring engineer and he was kind enough to be blunt. He said, "We will not be making any harnesses for that engine because of the one year only computer." I talked to every other LS and wiring company at the show and only one said they could/would make a new harness. At nearly $1000!! I have an engine harness already and it's in great shape considering the engine only has 10 miles on it! I would truly appreciate any help you could offer. I like the engine. It's great for conversations with people who think all old cars and trucks are gross polluters that should be crushed. Thanks again. Re: Killers 5.3L install
WOW....just read throught this entire thread and was loving the exquisite work Don was doing on your project. VERY sorry to see what happened and even though I am glad it was found, I know it was a bitterweet affair.
I've never seen a more detailed build....I think you are taking this very well from our perspective and you have a great attitude about Killer ll. I hope things go more smoothly for you this time out and I also hope the scumbag rots in hell for taking it from you. Don, if I ever get the cash to do a build like this one, you will be getting a PM and a visit from me with trailer and project in tow. Your talents are already legendary here on the board and it's my guess they'll be even more well known in the very near future. You are truly an artist and you should be damn proud of your work! I think it's great that a board member helped you find it. Now I am sending positive waves for the insurance geeks to succumb to your offer. I am dealing with State Fram on an issue of my own and I know why they are in business. They make money both from the insured and those who are at fault [when they can get to them anyway] so I understand your frustration. best of luck getting them on your page.

Re: Killers 5.3L install
Tell you something that might help...
Back when I was young my GF had surgery on her upper jaw. Braces weren't enough to straighten out her bite, so the doc told her we needed to cut it and spread it out a bit. We did the surgery thinking her insurance would pay. They balked and told her it was a pre-existing condition. Shaky ground considering that she worked for Traveler's Ins. at the time [the company that wouldn't pay]. I told the doc and he pulled me aside and told me to call them the next day. He said "Tell them you're going to call the insurance commisioner in Austin and see what he thinks about the whole situation". I did that and they said "OK". The next week we went to her check up appointment and the doc came in. I told him I called but got an "OK", but no promise of anything. He laughed a bit and told me that what I did was the trick. I said, HUH? Yep, you guessed it, they paid...not only that, they were so hasty they paid 100% [only supposed to pay 80% on her policy]. We were payed in full without having to do much of anything. Don't know if that will work for you, but it's worth a try!

Re: Killers 5.3L install
WOW!
What an ordeal! I read all the pages from work since it was a slow day (and had to continue at home reading). And frankly was shocked to hear about Killer being stolen and being voilated such as it was. You can never been too careful these days and just makes a person think about "what if". 68 short step - your work truly speaks for itself! And you put a lot of pride and workmanship into this build. I only wish my build will some how compare to your quality that I have seen through these days of this thread. My build will be an inline 6 cylinder either turbo or just natural. Just have not decided but in either case have learn a lot from just browsing and reading all the great posts on this board. killer71 - we all mourn the lost of your beatiful project truck and look forward to your next one!

So where's Killer I now?
Maybe someone on the board should pick him up and resurrect him...there's a sh*t ton of solid work under that cosmetic crap.
