Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
the dull spots can be from overspray or to little clearcoat or failing to aply the clearcoat at the right moment , waterbased paints have a different way of aplying than thinnerbased ones there allso less good to buff without scratching because the paint is softer after drying
still (sounding like a standing joke here) : "you might be able to buff those out" try a small spot thats not clearly visable standing up and with some water buffing compound a soft rag and a lot of elbow grease see if the dullspots gets a shine or you just go trough the paint in the first case youre lucky and its fixable with little money and some effort the second they didnt aply enough clear and they need to redo the clear , it should cost a lot less than having to do the basecoat and topcoat over again the dents and al the other stuff has allready been taken care off so its only getting the truck sanded down with a scotch pad and respray right this time try buffing or sanding buffing first you might actually be able to get the truck look like its covered in glass with a lot of buffing from a person who knows his job when working with a machine and buffingcompound you have to be carefull on edges to keep the surfase wet enough so you dont force the buffingstuff intoo the topcoat and not to burn the paint those things take time to learn working with youre hands rubbing the truck is better when you dont have as mush experiance but its a LOT of work
