stock paint configuration question

Dose some one have a pic of a bone stock 1971 chevy c-10 longbed. That has the stock olive and white paint. I have looked but I cannot tell the differance yet. Thanks.

I was thinking about taking Jenn's 71 to get painted. but I want it to look as it did when it was brand new. Once again thanks.

barn9, I checked out WHYBYNU's truck it looks great. Here's the deal with Jenna's 71. When we got here truck, it was olive and white. But it was only white on the cab not any on the side like WHYBYNU's truck. This is a plan jane truck. No options, is it possable the truck was painted this way stock? Or is it possable the first owner had it repainted? When we got the truck it looked like a stock paint job.

anyone have any other idea's?

Going by memory here as I do not have my 71 resto book handy but there were two 2-tone paint schemes. One like whybynu's and one like you describe. I believe you needed upper and lower trim to get it painted like whybynu's otherwise t would look awkward.

If you have the narrow chrome strip that runs along the cab above the bed then your two-tone cab top only is correct. Even if it's missing you should still have the pins that held the trim in place behind the cab.

Hope this helps

FYI, good call on NOT cutting your dash.

It is probably original...esp if the bright trim is there like CPNE mentioned.
The Longhorn is equipped like you describe.

Landon,
My dad had a 1970 that he bought new that was dark green on the roof and light green everywhere else. It had the chrome "paint divider" around the cab and all of the side chrome for a two tone paint job, but only the roof was a different color. Sorry, I don't have any pictures of that truck.

Good Luck!

My 69 has the factory white roof and the rest aqua. No side trim at all aka "plain jane special" Look at casey's avatar...same thing, white roof, blue body.

Fat fords, I knew a guy in Texas with a 71 that was yellow and red. The yellow was where the white would normally be done. IT was all stock and original. (he bought it new) It was yellow roof, then red, yellow center and red on the bottom.
He told me you were able to order any combination of colors, but GM would 'recomend' certian schemes.
