EGR Solenoid valve
On my 1987 305 TBI, I had to replace the EGR solenoid valve. When I went to the chevy dealer for the vacuum tubes (no luck there :-(), I ask for where the 3 vacuum hoses hooked up to. They did not know.
I know one goes to the EGR valve itself, the other goes the intake just below the TBI, the third one????? I am not even sure it goes any where. The new solenoid came with a spongy type filter over it??? the old one had nothing? So, does any one know if it is just a air intake for the valve or is it supposed to go somewhere? thanks

The third port is a vent.
It should be left open. Leave the sponge/filter on it.

You’re welcome!
Look at the old one and you will see the vent port is smooth and is not barbed to hold a hose on it.
