Power window Help needed

So I am trying to get the power windows working on my donner 86 truck so I can swap the doors onto my 80.

I have some problems.
I know my switch has shorted. Can see it on the back circuit board so I need one, where can I get one? Use hopefully. It shorted because a wire broke off and crossed the board. Where can I get a connector or a complete plug? Also my right door window goes down so slow... New motor??

My Left one does not go down I'm hopping its because of the switch. I have + at the motor plug on one lead the other has nothing - or +? Dead I figured because of the switch?

Any help would be great.

here are some pics.

Re: Power window Help needed

you can buy 14-16 gauge pin grip terminals online for about 55 some odd cents.... now some of the wires are more like 10 - 12 gauge.... I re-did all of mine on the passenger door with those terminals... they fit and worked, but a 10-12 gauge terminal would have been the ticket.

Re: Power window Help needed

87 chevy - how did you get the pin terminals to fit into the connector? Mine seemed to be a molded connector which could not be disassembled. With a broken off piece of old terminal left in the connector, did you pick out the old terminal and broken wires and just force in a new terminal - no solder or other means of attachment, other than brute force? I could not figure out how to do mine so I bought a new harness and connector from AC/Delco.

One pwr window harness supplier is American Auto Wire. CaptKaos is a member of this site and a distributor for them.

The only place I found who had the exact harness that works is AC/Delco (part number PT254). You can search online for AC/Delco vendors - I have been using two, but don't know if I can mention them - they have free shipping over $25, so I always try to buy $25 worth of parts. This harness costs about $24 (I think), so I bought a OEM oil filler cap to make $25 +.
Here is a link to the AC/Delco online catalog for "pigtails", which includes all connectors and harnesses for GM. Just select the number of "cavities" or pins for your connector and scan the pictures until you find the one you need:
