Thanks for all the kind words. guys. To answer some of the questions: I did paint the interior with the cab on the frame, but with the glass out and the doors off. I also had the steering wheel off. I had to pretty much disassemble the dash anyway, to install the dash pad and radio, but I didn't have to pull the wire harness. Just covered them with paper. By the way, this is a good time to replace that windshield wiper motor and washer pump. My wiper motor still worked, but was sluggish. And the washer pump hadn't worked for years. Take the opportunity to change these out, anytime you have the dash disassembled this far. You'll be glad you did. Also a good time to replace those defroster hoses. Painting the interior wasn't too hard, but I would strongly suggest removing the front windshield. Thats how I ended up painting the upper dash area yellow. I painted it through the windshield opening. I debated on whether to paint over this area with a low-gloss paint, but am glad I didn't. There is no glare when driving, but maybe because I'm kinda short. I really can't see anything but the dash pad from the driving position. And I like the look of the yellow dash through the windshield. The pictures were taken at Concord Park. I live fairly close to there, and wanted a background other than my house. Thanks again for all the positive feedback. I knew I was swimming against the stream when I decided to keep the original drivetrain, but I really like the simplicity of the 6-cyl, 3-speed setup. It has lots of torque, and runs really good. And if you have patience, you can get the column shifter to work pretty well. Just takes some grease, some new bushings, some adjustment, and some respect for the H-pattern when shifting.
