Wire harness vendors?

I know pain;ess makes one but it's about $950 for the one I looked at. Are there any others at a more decent price?

Look into TechRods on ebay as well. I have heard good things about them and their prices are good.

I am trying to do my own

Re: Wire harness vendors?

Looking to put my ECU in the cab, which I dont think would work without a new harness/ lengthening all the wires on the current harness unless someone else has ideas? I heard camaro harnesses would do it, but then I wouldnt have to loose DBW and switch over plugs for the injectors.

What kind of prices are you guys getting these harensses made for? Are they reworked or made from scratch.

If you want to rework a harness, find one from a Express van. My harness exits the back of the motor, down to the frame and runs the frame to the core support....I lengthend 5-6 wires

Re: Wire harness vendors?

does anyone have like a pin out sheet of the wires that can be removed from a stock harness if you want to make your own.

Re: Wire harness vendors?

got mine from fuelinjectionconnection. They were pretty good about lead time and the harness was very nice. One plug was incorrect, but they shipped me the new pigtail free, and quickly.

Mine is a techrods harness and I can verify that it worked great at half the cost of Painless, and it had just enough length that I ran it up under the seat in my 56 to get it out of the engine bay.

Re: Wire harness vendors?

Would an express van from 2002 have had drive by wire or cable throttle?

Re: Wire harness vendors?

Got my harness from my 7.4l Vortec/4l80e from TechRods. Everything was great except the alt plug, but that only because my drivetrain came out of a 1 ton service truck that had a 120 amp alt on it. Easy fix...
