I put a jeep tank in the rear, and instead of having a hole in the floor, I desiced i would put it in the steak pocket. ran a fuel fill hose all the way to the tank. the filler itself is a marine piece i picked up at the local marina. 12 bucks I think, and just painted to my body color. check out my build thread, it has more on the tank and will have more on the gauges and filler http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=427417 |

Here's a plate i made to change the front bolt pattern on my truck to 4 3/4 . It has centering bushings for drilling and taping holes works great...

Re: lets see your trick mods and custom touches!!
I've done a few more mods of late on the 71.
All new SpeedHut gauges installed. Air bag helper in the back springs. New 20" wheels all around. Bought the caliper paint at O-Rileys today and going to paint the fronts RED!

Re: lets see your trick mods and custom touches!!
Man I like that truck! That is asume. Great job on the mods.
I have to ask though. Why have a battery cut off in the bumper where everyone see's it? Is it for racing purposes?

Re: lets see your trick mods and custom touches!!
Man I wish my buddy had one of those! I'd be killing his power at every stop light. lol I just put one on the back of my Camaro. If you are upside down at the end of the track and about to catch on fire, it's nice when someone else can turn the ignition off. You combine that with a Ford remote solenoid and all of the power stays to the back of the car. Nice if you hit the wall, bend your frame and get into that massive starter cable.

Re: lets see your trick mods and custom touches!!
Thanks Cheby. I had considered putting together a kit, but didn't think there would be enough interest due to the cost of everything (LCD, head unit, ...)
I put together a how to a few years back for those interested: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ad+unit&page=1 |
