Re: Project: "Might-as-well" - 70 C-10 LWB
. . . .
Good news from my mechanic . . . the roughness in the engine was a broken push rod and lifter . . . a lot better then a new engine !!! They were fixed today and he got my Highlander wheel covers to go on too !!! ( he had to "customize" the back of them a little ) The brake booster is holding vacuum - he's going to drive it a little and see if the booster is working ( if it ever stops raining ) I also mentioned to him that I wanted to eventually rebuild the engine and install an overdrive transmission - he said he can pull the engine, bring the truck back to my garage on his trailer and reinstall everything for me this winter . . . then all the "big stuff" will be done !!! |

I didn't actually see it, he might have said it was "bent" - it's running pretty good now but still needs to be rebuilt . . . someday.

I guess I should end my build thread with the pictures I took for the ads on Craigslist, Hemmings, AutoTrader Classics and in the for sale area of this website . . . . . . health issues are forcing me to sell it and move out of state. We've enjoyed it for 19 years, I just wish it was worth more then HALF of what I have in it !!! . . . .

. . . .
The truck was SOLD today . . . it went to a "good home". We had nineteen years of enjoyment out of it . . . . . . and as I told the new owner: " I couldn't have done it without all of the great people on this website " - THANKS for all your help. . . . .
