cracked frame
found crack in frame today, drivers side engine mount hole. where else are these frames prone to cracks? can i just weld this crack or should i plate and weld?

I dont know about the 67-72's, but its a common problem on 73-87 frames near the steering box, at least on 4x4's

I say weld up the crack. Some say that the crack won't reappear there but along side or next to the old crack. I have not found this to be true

Depends on where it is and how extensive it is. In general, find the place where the crack stops, drill a small hole in the end of the crack to "stop" it (1/8 - 3/16), weld up the crack. Plating the cracked area won't hurt a thing, do it if you want.
