Battery relocation...

I want to relocate my battery from the engine compartment to somewhere toward the rear of the truck ('69 long bed) under the bed. I would like to mount it so it is protected but easy to service/remove if I need to. Anyone have any bracket ideas they wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks in advance.

Re: Battery relocation...

Not exactly what you were asking for - but I was thinking of relocating mine to the bed just behind the passenger side of the cab, hidden inside a bolted down old coca-cola cooler. Would be covered, cables would be shorter, easy access, cleans out the engine compartment, easy jumping for your buds... the list of "goods" is lengthy! But, haven't gotten around to it yet. (actually, this was an idear for a 55.1 I was tinkering around with in my mind, but the idea applies to anything). Those old coke coolers are getting kinda expensive at swap meets though...

Classic Performance Products has a nice stainless drop out battery box that attaches to the frame rail. This is what I have done. There is an installation article on their site.
