59 power window install help

Hi Did i buy the right power window kit? Dolphin window thru e-z wire,i have never put power windows in before so a couple dumb questions,I did not remove the brace that ties the inner and other door skins together and the window kit does not seem to fit on top or below brace,do i have to notch brace also it looks like i have to cut or shorten channel to get window to come down or up the right height and it seems like it still will hit the support brace in doors. any comments positive or negative or better yet point to where i can see pictures. i am keeping the vent window in. thanks mike.

I can't say you bought the wrong power window kit but if it was me, i would use power window kit from nu-relics. www.nu-relics.com they bolt up in the stock location and work great without having to cut up your doors...we used them in a '51 suburban and worked great..... check them out..

I wouldn't cut the brace. You would likely end up with a road noise amplifier.

Re: 59 power window install help

i mocked up the durango window motors on a piece of wood before looking at my doors to get the mounting points
and then transferred the mounting points to my doors before cutting
i have zero dollars invested in my power windows other than the wiring and switches
everything mounts to the removable door panel, the holes are access to fasteners

i have little talent, but unlimited tenacity

I was looking in a catalog for power windows in my 56 & the co. I saw showed the custom kit for that era as being for changover to 1 piece window only. You might check your aplication.
