Chassis Reinforcement

Did anyone tried to reinforce the chassis? My truck in the paint shop and they found out the chassis up front is little bit twisted and noticed that the chassis is not the greatest design by GM and I was thinking of putting up bridge between the chassis to hold it more tighter does anyone have ideas on this?

Re: Chassis Reinforcement

2wd or 4wd, if 4wd has it been abused because that usually leads to frame problems

Re: Chassis Reinforcement

Buy a new tube chassis or live with the redvines quality frame we have.

Otherwise box it and hope the inspectors are morons

Re: Chassis Reinforcement

If the frame was bent in an accident it can be pulled straight... It could be the bends it got were minor enough a previous owner chose not to bother with the expense of pulling it straight. Unless you are planning on working the truck hard or abusing it, once pulled straight it shouldn't have a problem with re-bending... I've had a frame fixed from an accident in a truck only to have it hit again, held up well enough that even though it bent a second time it was still able to be straightened back within specs again, and hasn't suffered anything ill since then...

Re: Chassis Reinforcement

Could make a few brackets that bolt on in key areas to bring it in shape.
