Nice build,

Another nice paddle shifter is Twist Machine. I am also looking at going this route when I eat there.

Cheers

The previous owner put that together. If you go to the link in the first post, I think he covers how he did it in detail.

LOL, I know, I know ! I'm working on it. We're just gathering parts and do the easy stuff to his right now.

C'mon J! I went from 4 projects down to 3.....I thought I was making progress....

We got the front clipped pulled and we'll pull the engine and chassis after Thanksgiving so we can have some more room in the garage. The Dakota Digital VHX gauges came in today from ProPerformance (thanks Travis)!!! I'm thinking about using somewhat w0rn original bezel to help knock the "shiny" off of the gauges. The truck is not going to be repainted for a long time and I think it will match the Patina of the rest of the truck.

Great project! definitely not a "starter" to me...there's more money in parts for that truck than what I've spent on all the trucks I've ever owned

Such a sweet truck, and a great idea for building some solid mechanical skills for Jake. Top notch Dad for sure!

Thanks! I've already explained the rules and he knows better than to break them (or he'll be riding his bicycle to school, )

Well I think he's finally decided to go with the 4L60E and the paddle shifters. I know the T56 would have been really cool, but I think he would have probably got tired of it. Oh well, better now than later. We still need to pull the other motor out, but between Thanksgiving and me being in bed sick with the flu all last week, we haven't got a lot done. I put the Coys from the Burb on my 68 just for something a little different. Just for giggles I bolted up my Billet Specialities to his Porterbuilt frame just to see if they would fit. Guess what, it's dang close in the rear butttt.......I think they will work! I'm going to buld his bed to fit around them, just in case we ever want to swap wheels around, :! Here's a few pictures, let me know what you think.

Re: Project "Shifted"

It's hard to say which wheels look better, they both look great! I don't think you could go wrong either way. I think the billets look a little more aggressive, and the Coy's look more cruiser, if that makes any sense? Doesn't matter, SWEET truck either way!
