Where to get an inspection plate?

Hey guys, I got a 4speed that came with no inspection plate. I want to start wheeling but thinking I need this item first. Is my only chance in finding one at a junk yard? Thanks for the help.

Not sure what you mean, since I can't recall ever seeing a tag or plate on a SM465. Transfer cases, yes but not on the trans.

Do you have a picture showing an example of what you are referring to?

I'm sorry, it's the cover that covers the clutch and starter. Does that make more sense? I'd probably have one by now if I knew what the hell I was talking about

Ahh, the bell housing dust cover.

Not sure who may sell it new, probably quicker to find one used.

Make sure you specify manual trans.

When searching for it you might also search for flywheel cover too.

Not sure about the 4speed application but Speedway Motors sells them in chrome for $20-30.

Jeff,
I do believe "used" is your only option. To help you out a bit, here is a picture of what you are looking for. (sorry this set was sold long ago)

I may have one but I'll need to dig around some. If so I'll mail it to you. Also keep an eye on Ebay.

Re: Where to get an inspection plate?

Based on the picture Mark posted mine won't work for you. You should have success on Ebay.
