Re: 71' (gonna be) a one of a kind custom

I went round and round in my head on different color schemes, I knew I didn't want any chrome anywhere on the truck. So, I ended up with black and blue, I know, not a real origonal idea. I am just not the type to go with crazy outlandish colors.............

Well, that brings up to date. The next step is going to be the lower control arms. Unfortunately, Hotchkis thinks their lower control arms are made of gold.

Hi Oz, I did have the frame blasted before the powder coating. The frame originally did not (as far as I could tell) have any under coating. I say that because the frame you see before the coating was so covered in mud and grease, you couldn't see the actual frame. If it did have the under coating on it, it got blasted off. Now technically those gauges did not fit my bezel. The speedo and tach were just 5 inch gauges and the smaller gauges I believe we're 2 3/4 inch gauges. I had to shave the holes out to fit the gauges. Interesting tidbit: The clock in the center, I had to make a filler piece to fit that one in. It was too small of a hole to fit a 5 inch gauge and too big for a 2 3/4. I was really happy with how it turned out. Although I did end up selling them. Any other questions are very welcome. I love talking trucks!

Well the blasting will definitely take off the undercoating as well as everything else that needs to come off. And those gauges I used were the Auto Meter Phantom II style gauges if it helps. Good luck and happy building! Need anything else let me know!
